Supply Chain Development Engineer

The Supply Chain Function is the main interface between Pattonair and its customers and suppliers. The department manages customer requirements by driving supplier performance to ensure on time product delivery, enabling Pattonair to be a world class provider. The department has key interfaces with the Sales, Strategic Procurement, Operations, Quality and Finance departments.

The role is to develop supplier capability and drive continuous improvement within Suppliers, to deliver measurable benefit to Pattonair within the Supply Chain Function.To be achieved through leading and coaching suppliers to deliver performance improvements (Supplier Gold Standard and / or Zero Defects programmes) into Pattonair.
Key Responsibilities
A successful engineer with a manufacturing bias will be:
- Technical referral point for suppliers, ensuring capability
- Driving zero defects programme
- Monitoring supplier performance
- Examine supplier manufacturing methods currently in place
- Ensure correct CI methods are implemented
- Ensuring compliance to process and quality standards
- Knowledge of 5 axis and 3 axis CNC machine milling.

It is essential that the manufacturing engineer has:
- HND / HNC in a mechanical, materials or manufacturing engineering
- Understanding of Manufacturing Engineering core processes (e.g. process planning, inspection methods and tooling)
- Awareness of aerospace engine products and materials
- Good knowledge of machinery and the tooling required, Advanced manufacturing and - - - Cost effective manufacturing methods
- Heavy mechanical bias ,understand all aspects of the machinery, including terms like 'feeds and speeds'
- Good knowledge of CI techniques to ensure the best methods
